Some of you may think it's a normal Friday in December... well we're here to tell you December 30 not just any day, but it's Bacon Day!!! (not to be confused with International Bacon Day, which was held back in September.)
Why do we love bacon?
It is a staple of American breakfasts, loved by meat eaters across the world, and has even been blamed for turning vegetarians into meat eaters.
Now researchers say they have solved the mystery of what makes the smell of bacon so attractive.
The key, they claim, is the 150 different organic compounds discovered in its aroma.

As early as 1500 BC the Chinese were known for salting pork bellies. And do you know where the phrase to 'bring home the bacon' came from? In the olden days people used to play a sport that involved catching a pig at country fairs - and the winning catcher got to take it home!
